Education
STARTALK Chinese Language Alumni, programs at Kent State University (2012) and Idaho Department of Education (2012). Graduate of St. Vincent-St. Mary High (2014). Studied gap year at Beijing No. 80 High, on a National Security Language Initiative for Youth Scholarship, which was funded by American Councils, supported through the U.S. Department of State. I am a student at Western Kentucky University's Honours College, and their Chinese Language Flagship. I am pursuing a double major with International Affairs, and Asian Religions & Cultures, as well as a minor in Spanish.
Experience
I have taught students preparing for high school language classes, in order for them to skip over the few beginning levels. My language proficiency is lower advanced. I lived and studied in Beijing last year. I took the HSK5, the Chinese language proficiency test that allows foreign students to test into Chinese University, and passed with good scores. I may not be fluent, but if you want to learn elementary Chinese as well as Chinese culture, I'm a good option. I am awefully thorough and organised with my lessons.
